AUMA has registered with another organization on campus (Phi Sigma Pi - Honor Fraternity) to attend our own etiquette dinner at 5:30 on Thursday, April 16th at the Auburn Hotel and Conference center.
I spoke with Dr. Bourdeau and he said AUMA would be willing to cover the cost of the event for the first 15 members to sign up. It normally costs $25/person, which covers the dinner and lecture. The event runs roughly one and a half hours, so we should be done by 7PM on Thursday night.
This is a really great out of class learning experience whether you are on the road to graduation or still working out pre-req classes. If you are currently on the job market and actively doing interviews this is the ideal way to get ahead of the competition. The dinner is meant to prepare you to meet with employers in a formal dining situation, giving you the tools and knowledge to interview and present yourself in a professional manner.
Deadline to Register: April 9th by 10PM - You MUST email me by this time to secure your registration for this event.
PLEASE DO NOT Register for this Event: Unless you are SURE you can attend. We are required to pay for the number of people we sign up, so registering and not attending is simply a waste of AUMA funds.
Dress: All students are expected to dress business professional, please uphold to this standard.
At this point in time we have 11 vacant slots, so act fast if you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity. At the very least look at this as a chance to get an incredible free meal.

Mr. Hales will be talking about sports marketing, his experiences in the field of marketing and providing additional information regarding the sports marketing internship here at Auburn.
Please come as this will be an enjoyable speaker and could turn out to be a great internship opportunity.

]]>We had a meeting today with a guest speaker from the career center. She gave us a presentation on resume writing, a few handous and pointers for the conference on Friday.
Her most basic tips included:
- Be short and concise. Try to keep your resume to one page or less
- Keep it neat and organized
- Be truthful about your exprience and skills
- Use action words
- Have a mentor or someone you trust check over your work
- Include a cover letter with your qualifications
